Product Description

Neanderthals: they imitated Homo sapiens

It is understandable that from the Neanderthals’ point of view, humans manufactured finer tools, had improved their hunting techniques, their settlements were adequately organized and controlled fire much better.

There is evidence that Neanderthals from Southern France, who co-existed with Homo sapiens in the same area, copied some of the artifacts that humans developed.

There are around 125 sites undoubtedly containing Neanderthal remains, such as Arcy-sur-Cure in Burgundy, where the decorated bones, the ivory rings, the grooved wolf, fox, reindeer, hyenas and other animal’s teeth, all awkwardly imitate those artifacts developed and found in places inhabited by humans.
